What does it mean to be a Superhero of Peace?
Peace Is The Way Films, co-founded by a former student of mine, Gregory Kennedy-Salemi, invites you to consider the notion that each of us can be superheros of peace, simply by being mindful, living in the present moment, and showing compassion for our sisters and brothers, especially those in greatest need.
How can you be a superhero of peace? Alfred Hassler, featured in Peace Is The Way Films debut film, The Secret of the 5 Powers, became a superhero of peace creating a comic book, The Montgomery Story, that helped make Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. a superhero of peace. Published in 1957, this comic book helped spread the word about the civil rights movement far and wide. In fact, it's still helping teach people about Dr. King's beloved community and methods for promoting peace, justice and human and civil rights. It was translated into Arabic and used by citizens and students in Tunisia and Egypt, inspiring the Arab Spring!
Who has been a superhero of peace for you? Who has helped teach you the way of love and peace? Who has mentored or coached or taught or loved you? Who has made a difference in your life? Who has helped you see more clearly your gifts, your truth, who you are meant to be, what you are meant to do in the world, your sacred purpose?
Peace Is The Way Films is creating an app that will enable you to celebrate and thank these superheros! The primary aim of our SuperHeroes of Peace App is to allow users to easily create a really cool interactive animated movie that celebrates their everyday heroes.
The people whom they admire most, those they look up to, or aspire to be. Your mom, dad, teacher, spouse, friend or even yourself!
The secondary goal is to inspire people to become a Hero of Peace themselves
by committing to: do something kind for someone, standing up for
cause, write a blog article, attend a demonstration...You get the idea.
The “SuperHeroes of Peace” App will automatically create a movie after a user uploads a photo that is already on their device, or from a photo that they take on the spot.
The SuperHero movie is then automatically created and can be viewed or shared on Facebook, Youtube or Twitter.
How will you be a superhero of peace? How will you mentor, coach, teach or love another into authenticity and purpose? How will you help another sister or brother see, embrace and live her or his truth? How will you help another find meaning and purpose in their life?
